We understand that your eyesight and eye health are paramount in all you do. Therefore, we make the time you need to do a thorough examination and we treat you as the individual that you are. We will go through any symptoms you may be experiencing, take a full ocular history, family history, discuss your general health and any medications you may be taking. We want to know what you use your eyes for; be it for sitting in front of a computer for hours at a time, identifying birds from a very long distance or close intricate craft work. This allows us to know how we can best help you and meet your needs.

Through the eye check we are also able to assess general health and wellbeing including diabetes, high blood pressure, glaucoma and elevated cholesterol levels etc.

Our standard eye examination will thoroughly check the internal and external health of your eyes to ensure they are in tip top condition including checking your eye pressures and peripheral vision. We will check to see if you require spectacles to correct your vision and fine tune it to ensure your prescription gives you the clearest vision we possibly can, no matter what task you need them for.

Checking to make sure that your eyes are working properly together is also something we do at The Stamford Eye Clinic. If they don’t, you could be getting symptoms such as headaches or double vision which will affect all that you do.

As part of our standard eye check, we will also carry out fundus photography which takes a flat image of the back of your eyes.
